Method used to achieve the aims of the project

Research Aims:

1. To explore the prevalence, nature and types of primary language impairment and provide a description of language impairment in a year 7 secondary school age cohort in two outer London boroughs
2. To investigate and compare the effectiveness of two SALT interventions (narrative and vocabulary enrichment), delivered by TAs, on the language and communication skills of a group of secondary school year 8 (aged 12-13) students identified with language impairments.
3. To identify specific areas of language and communication, through the use of predictive outcome measures that improve differentially as a result of the two interventions and their combined effect.
