Method used to achieve the aims of the project
Research Aims:
- To explore the prevalence, nature and types of primary language impairment and provide a description of language impairment in a year 7 secondary school age cohort in two outer London boroughs
- To investigate and compare the effectiveness of two SALT interventions (narrative and vocabulary enrichment), delivered by TAs, on the language and communication skills of a group of secondary school year 8 (aged 12-13) students identified with language impairments.
- To identify specific areas of language and communication, through the use of predictive outcome measures that improve differentially as a result of the two interventions and their combined effect.
